All other pre-season friendlies cancelled due to the tragic death of midfielder Lee Shemwell Friday 15th August.
Tuesday 11th August
Bedlinog 0 - 7 Abercynon
Bedlinog were once again dissapointing and remain without a goal in pre-season. The visitors hit 6 in the first half where the Rocks showed no determination or organisation. They defended better after a re-shuffle and made a game of it conceding just the one goal in the second half.
Saturday 8th August
Malsters(Swansea) 3 - 0 Bedlinog
Bedlinog was defeated again against their opponents from the Swansesa Senior League. On a poor pitch the hosts scored 3 first half goals. They were all down to poor defending and goalkeeping. Gavin Hatch missed a first half penalty after being brought down. The second half was more even with the visitors hitting the bar and missing several good opportunities but still they search for their first pre-season goal and the good football the club is usually associated with.
Thursday 6th August
Bedlinog 0 - 6 Cascade
Bedlinog went down heavily against a good young Cascade side. The Rocks looked disjointed and will be bitterley dissapointed with the performance. 3 new players started the game gaining their debuts, 2 Fochrhiw youngsters and Daniel Madden from the village. A bright spot in a poor performance was 16 year old Josh Madden, another debutent who came on in the second half and made a very pleasing debut. At least we have a few promising young local players progressing into the team for the first time for a few years.
