Trelewis Welfare 2 - 3 Bedlinog
The Rocks won a close game in this local derby on a heavy pitch in their first away friendly of pre-season. The visitors controlled the first half and went in 3-0 up with a spectacular 25 yarder from Kalvin King and a brace from Gavin Hatch. Both teams made several changes and Trelewis got back into the game with 2 goals. The Rocks had other chances to score and hit the post twice while playing decent football on a difficult surface.

Bedlinog 10 - 0 Lamb Inn
The Rocks blasted 10 goals past their opponents from Aberdare on a wet pitch at the Hendre. The away team started brightly and had a couple of half chances before the hosts got into the game and went on a scoring spree without really getting into top gear. New signing Scott Jones continued to impress with clinical finishing helping himself to 5 goals. Fellow striker Kalvin King had 2, Andrew Northam scored 2 and Nicholas Jones scored from a corner to five Bedlinog their first win of pre-season.

Bedlinog 4 - 5 A.F.C. Abercynon
Bedlinog lost another close game and are yet to win in pre-season . Abercynon were the better side in the first half but the Rocks came from behind to lead 3-2 at the break. Two super goals were scored by the hosts, one from Scott Jones, the other from Gavin Hatch after a great move. Hatch got the other from close range. Despite improving and being the better side a 4-3 lead was surrended by bad discipline and losing their shape. Scott ? scored another neat goal but the visitor's claimed the victory, the Rocks not playing much of the football they played against Nelson and playing too many long balls which just gave possession away.

Bedlinog 2 - 3 Nelson Cavaliers
Bedlinog fought back from 2 goals down to draw level before going down to a deflected goal in this local derby. Nelson fielded 2 different teams in both halfs and were 1-0 up at half time with a headed goal. They scored a second when poor defending from a corner resulted in a tap in. The Rocks came back strongly and played some good football and grabbed a goal through Gavin Hatch. The equaliser came when a good move was finished off by Steven Coughlin. The hosts were now on top and hit the post and bar trying to look for the winner. Nelson had a free kick 25 yards out and the shot deflected off the wall sending keeper Steve Madden the wrong way. A good game played in good spirit with both teams trying to play neat football.

Bedlinog 2 - 6 A.F.C. Race
Bedlinog lost the first friendly of the season on a hot day at the Hendre. The Rocks went in front with an early goal by debutent Scott Jones with a well struck shot. Race fought back to score twice but the hosts scored again when a cross by Kalvin King was turned into the net by a defender. Bedlinog then lost their discipline and threw away the game concedinig sloppy goals in the process.

Gellideg 7-1 Bedlinog
Bedlinog had several players missing as the home team clinched the title. The visitors went in front early on with a volley from Dean Jones. They should have had a penalty but was denied and then conceded a very soft penalty where Gellideg equalised. The home team took control and they were awarded the league trophy after the game.
Saturday 25th April
Bedlinog 2-2Gellideg
Bedlinog got a deserved point from their last home game of the season against league leaders Gellideg. The home side went in front with a goal from top scorer Gavin Hatch and were playing well until Kalvin King got sent off for a push. The Gellideg player escaped with a yellow card despite retaliating. The visitors scored two quick goals after the break to get on top but the Rocks kept battling and gained a point when a shot from Andrew Coughlin was deflected in. Both sides pushed for the winner but a draw was probably fair as the whistle blew. Mike Warren in the home goal had a dominant game and pulled off a few good saves and was voted man of the match.
Tuesday 21st April
Bedlinog 3-0 Cefn Coed
Bedlinog wasn't at their best but still run out comfortable winners to complete the double over Cefn Coed. The Rocks could have scored more while the visitors rarely threatened. Gavin Hatch did the damage with a hat trick.
Saturday 18th April
Baili Glas 8-0 Bedlinog
Bedlinog had another thumping with an understrengh team against Baili Glass who are heading for promotion. The first half was pretty tight and the visitors went in 2 goals down at the break. On a warm day they were overun in the second half with the home team scoring at will and even missing a penalty. Bedlinog didn't trouble the home keeper who didn't have a save to make all game.
Tuesday 14th April
Gurnos 5-3 Bedlinog
Another dissapointing performance by Bedlinog against a team who ended the game with an amazing 8 men. The early exchanges looked good for the visitors as they went into a 2 goal lead with strikes from Brian Flew and Kalvin King. Against the run of play an own goal by Ryan Price and a long range effort brought Gurnos level at the break. Just after the restart the home team were reduced to 10 men but Bedlinog lost their shape after this and it was Gurnos who took control with their long game now causing problems. Another own goal, this time by Andrew Coughlin put Gurnos in control and they had another man sent off but still roared into a 3 goal lead. Dean Jones pulled a goal back with a neat volley from the edge of the box but despite Gurnos having another man sent off late on they held out for the win.
Tuesday 7th April
Bedlinog 0-6 Troedyrhiw
Bedlinog were beaten for the first time in 5 games with by a Troedyrhiw team with a few flyers from their welsh league team involved. Against the wind the visitors had the better chances but it remained goalless in the first half. They scored two early goals in the second half and Bedlinog, despite looking shapless and not playing good football had a good spell where they missed a number of chances to get back into the game. The visitors made a few astute substitutions and went on to score a further four goals. The Rocks were dissapointed with their play and and the referee who seemed to give free kicks for the most innocent of challenges.
Saturday 4th April
Bedlinog 5-0 Penydarren
Bedlinog started April off with a comfortable victory over Penydarren. The hosts played good football throughout and took the lead after 12 minutes when a cross from Andrew Northam was headed into the net by Gavin Hatch. Hatch doubles the lead after 29 minutes when he lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper. The Rocks carried on where they left off in the second half and scored further goals from Steven Coughlin, Brian Flew and Andrew Northam. All 3 goals were similar, after good footbal a one on one was created and the keeper rounded to score.
Saturday 14th March
Quar Park Rangers 2-3 Bedlinog
Bedlinog came home with maximum points following an exciting climax on a sandy pitch. The visitors went ahead with a fantastic 25 yarder from Kalvin King only for the hosts to equalise. The Rocks took control of the game and had some good chances before top Scorer Gavin Hatch put them back in front. They spurned further chances to wrap the game up but the home side pulled level 5 minutes from the end with a rare attack. Bedlinog responded and got the winner with another from Kalvin King.

Cefn Coed 1-2 Bedlinog
The Rocks came from behind for a deserved victory. A free kick found its way into the net to give the hosts a half time lead but the visitors missed several chances before getting a goal through Gavin Hatch. They continued to dominate and got the goal they deserved through Brian Flew.
Saturday 28th February
Troedyrhiw 1-1 Bedlinog
The Rocks were dissapointed to go away with a point after leading for a large part of this match. They took the lead through Scott Jones and had other chances to win the game, the home keeper pulling off a few great saves to deny them. The Rhiw hit back 5 minutes from the end to rescue a point
Saturday 21st February
Bedlinog 4 - 7 Gurnos
Bedlinog put in a poor performance and were well beaten by Gurnos despite taking the lead through Brian Flew. Gurnos seemed more hungry with the home team giving the ball away too easy and were always chasing the game after Gurnos went in front. Other Rocks goals came from Gavin Hatch, Gareth Jones and a second from Flew.

Georgetown 3-2 Bedlinog
Bedlinog went down in a tight game despite going 2 goals up. Gavin Hatch and Scott Jones scored 2 great goals to put the Rocks in control before a headed own goal by Steven Coughlin allowed the hosts back into the game. They equalised again with a sloppy goal when the ball went in at the near post and went ahead with another poor goal when Rocks keeper Mike Warren failed to hold a free kick and the rebound was poked home. The visitors should have been level at the braek as they were awarded a penalty and Georgtown down to 10 men when a defender handled on the line. Debutant Brian Flew took the penalty which hit the bar. Bedlinog tried to hit back against the 10 men in the 2nd half but Geogetown held out for and took 3 points.
Saturday 29th November
Bedlinog 6 - 5 Baili Glass
The Rocks came away with the points on a bitterly cold day but they should have won more comfortable letting in late goals. The home team were 3 goals up at the break and continued to be the better team after the break scoring another. The visitors pulled a goal back only for Bedlinog to score again. The game was fizzling out with the score at 6-3 only for the Baili to score 2 late goals in the last 2 minutes with the home team losing their shape and falling asleep. The Rocks were glad to hear the whistle in the end as they held on for another 3 points. Striker Scott Jones scored a hat trick while Nicholas Jones grabbed 2 and Gavin Hatch scored the other for the home team.
Saturday 22nd November
Penydarren 5 - 2 Bedlinog
The Rocks suffered their first league defeat but had enough clear chances to win the game. The hosts went in front only for Scott Jones to score to level it up at the break. Bedlinog had a number of opportunities to score but again went behind only for Gavin Hatch to equalise again. More chances were missed by the Rocks and they were punished when Carl Davies deflected a shot into his own net. The home team scored a further 2 goals as Bedlinog pushed forward trying salvage something from the game.
Saturday 15th November
Bedlinog 5 - 2 Quar Park Rangers
Bedlinog took their first 3 points of the season with the strikers in top form. The Rocks raced into a 2 goal lead only for the visitors to draw level. The hosts pressed again and scored a further 3 goals to put the game beyond their opponents. Home scorers were Gavin Hatch with a hat-trick and Scott Jones with a double.

Bedlinog 3 - 3 Georgetown
The Rocks rode their luck to fight back for a point in the opening league game of the season. Playing against the wind the home team struggled to play football and Georgetown took the lead through a Martin Wilson own goal. The host fought back to equalise through Scott Jones. It stayed level at the break despite the visitors having several chances. Georgetown continued to push and went 3-1 up and looked comfortable going in to the final 20 minutes. The home team had their keeper to thanks keeping them in the game with some outstanding saves, Mikey "Munch" Warren having his best game in a Bedlinog shirt with an inspiring performance. Veterans Steve Madden and David Walsh came on for Bedlinog and shored up the defence and pushed the team forward. Gavin Hatch pulled one back and Dean Jones equalised with a 35 yard screamer to earn a point.

Bedlinog 3-7 Bluebird(2nd round)
The Rocks crashed out despite a valiant effort to overcome champions Bluebirds in their first game of 2009. The visitors went ahead but the home team played some lovely football to go 2-1 up after 30 minutes. Bluebirds scored 2 quick goals to lead 3-2 at the break and added a further 2 goals to make the game safe. Bedlinog continued to play their football and scored a goal to stay in the game but the visitors showed their superior fitness levels to score a further 2 goals for a somewhat flattering scoreline. Scott Jones scored a hat-trick for the hosts.
Saturday 6th December
Pant 7 - 0 Bedlinog(cup 2nd round)
The Rocks crashed out of the cup well beaten by their premier division opponents. They made the worst possible start when a defensive blunder by Andrew Coughlin resulted in a goal after just 30 seconds. The score was 2-0 at the break with the visitors having several scoring opporrtunities either side of the break. Pant scored their third and heads went down as they rubbed salt in the wound by banging in 7.
Saturday 1st November
Bedlinog 5-3- Trelewis (Senior cup 1)
The Rocks fought back to progress woth a hard fought win over their local rivals. Trelewis were the better team in the first half and were 3-1 with half hour to go, Kalvin King scoring with a 30 yarder. The Rocks then lifted their game and deserved the win in the end. Other scorers were Scott Jones with a brace, Steve Coughlin with a penalty and Gavin Hatch.
Saturday 18th September
Drovers 3 - 9 Bedlinog(group cup)
The Rocks deserved this victory after going behind from a dubvious penalty. Some good football was played and good goals scored with hat-tricks from strikers Gavin Hatch and Scott Jones. Other scorers were Calvin King, Dean Jones and Steven Coughlin.
Saturday 4th October
Bedlinog 7 - 3 Park View (cup round 1)
The Rocks went through to the second round on a wet and windy day up the Hendre. The visitors were reduced to 10 men after 20 minutes when a tackle from behind was yellow carded and abuse given to the ref resulted in a red card being shown. Instead of calming the game down abuse was horribly thrown at the ref from the player and surprisingly the visitors manager, no wonder there is a lack of officials at local level. Teams need to get together and agree one word which is sadly missing, RESPECT. Bedlinog were 3-1up at the break but played good football against the wind to end up convincing winners. Home scorers were Scott Jones with a hat-trick, Gavin Hatch with 2, Calvin King and a 30 yarder from Rhys Price.
Saturday 27th September
Cefn Coed 1 - 1 Bedlinog(group cup)
This game was abandoned after 40 minutes as the referee decided to take his ball home. The home manager took charge of the game and after a few rash challenges went in without being punished took a bit of stick and blew up. With people offering to continue to ref the game he declined which was surprisingly accepted by the home team. Gavin Hatch had put the visitors ahead before the hosts equalised.
Saturday 20th September
Bedlinog 3 - 4 Troedyrhiw(group cup)
The Rocks crashed crashed out of the group cup with a narrow defeat. The hosts were ahead 2-1 at the break before the Rhiw hit 3 to forge ahead. Bedlinog scored to make it a tense finish but they coudn't find the equaliser they deserved. Home scorers were Gavin Hatch with 2 and Steven Coughlin.
Saturday 13th September
Bedlinog 5 - 1 Trelewis(group cup)
The Rocks beat local rivals Trelewis with several players missing. The home team missed several chances before opening the scoring and controlled the game throughout. The visitors consolation came from the penalty spot following a silly challenge from Nicholas "Chewey" Jones. Home scorers were Andrew Northam with 2, Gavin Hatch, Dean Jones and super sub David Walsh.
Tuesday 2nd September
Park View 8 - 3 Bedlinog(group cup)
Bedlinog put in a shocking performance and were easily beaten by Park View at Gellideg. The home side scored within a minute but Steven Coughlin replied a minute later. The goals continued to go in as the home team went in at the break 4-3 up. The Rocks other scorers were Kalvin King and Gavin Hatch. The second half started badly as the hosts scored a couple of quick goals which killed the game off. Bedlinog were poor with little effort and shape shown thriughout the game.
Saturday 30th August
Bedlinog 6 - 2 Gurnos(group cup)
The game ended early as Gurnos players walked off the pitch as they had a couple of injuries and refused to play the last 10 minutes. The home side got their first win of the season with goals from Gavin Hatch who bagged a hat-trick, Andrew Northam, Dean Jones and Gareth Jones. It was nice to see Jones get a goal for his own team as he usually specialises in own goals. Well done Gareth!

Bedlinog 2 - 5 Quar Park Rangers (group cup)
The Rocks started their season with a poor performance in this group game. The visitors took an early 2 goal lead but the hosts hit back just before the break with a Steven Coughlin penalty. They started the second half on top and grabbed the equaliser through Gavin Hatch. The away keeper made a couple of good saves but it was Rangers who grabbed the important third. Bedlinog then chased the game and conceded a further 2 goals. After playing some good football pre-season the Rocks were poor and lacked shape and motivation for most of the match.
